On Saturday, October 21st "Perseverancia" hosted their first fundraiser of an inter council NC State soccer tournament. Twelve teams competed in a 5v5, single elimination tournament. The event was sponsored by Celsius along with appearances from the local NPO, "El Pueblo", a dance performance from NC State's student latin organization "Sube Ritmo", and catering from "Happy Pupusas" brought by Sandra Chicas. The event raised close to $3,000 in soccer player registration, catering, t-shirt sales and sponsorships.
Around 90 people participated in this event, each team had 7-10 players available, the final match was a face-off between Sigma Nu and Delta Kappa Epsilon. Sigma Nu ended up winning the whole thing on an overtime goal, the final score was 4-3.
